What is Radulock?

It is a hole with a specific geometry that enables a compliant tube to be readily hand-fitted by twisting the tube, forming a very high pressure hydraulic or pneumatic seal that becomes tighter as pressure increases.

  • There is NO CONNECTOR required (the hole itself is the connector)

  • There is NO TUBING PREPARATION required

  • It is RE-USEABLE (just unscrew to release)

Radulock was born out of need at The Australian National Fabrication Facility, University of South Australia. Invented by Dr Luke Parkinson, Radulock was initially designed to solve the problem of connecting tubing to thin thermoplastic microfluidic devices (the so-called, "chip-to-world connection"). The lack of such a solution has been one of the key inhibitors to commercial adoption of microfluidic technologies. Since most variations of Radulock geometry are injection-moldable with minimal tooling changes, the breadth of applications in low-cost medical devices, laboratory consumables and in other industries is vast.

Radulock Pty Ltd holds exclusive sub-licensing rights to the Radulock direct tubing connection geometry with patents pending internationally. We are actively seeking sub-licensees and manufacturing partners.
